It Takes a Village
Volunteer your time and talents at the Omaha Marathon. This is a great opportunity for individuals or groups to give back to the Omaha running community and support a locally-run event. Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt and snacks and refreshments!

RUN IT FORWARD
Support Our Runners, We Support Your Mission
Run It Forward is your nonprofit’s chance to raise $500 while helping power the Omaha Marathon! By volunteering as course monitors, your team of 16 volunteers supports hundreds of runners - and receives a $500 donation for your 501(c)(3) organization, school or the charity of your choice.
How it works:
- A limited number of course monitor spots are available on a first come, first served basis.
- To receive your donation, your organization must volunteer for two, three-hour shifts (~6:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.). At least eight volunteers are needed for each shift.
- Course monitors may be stationed throughout the course independently.
- Volunteers who register by Sept. 5, receive a free volunteer T-shirt.
- We will donate $500 to your organization for completing the full 6-hour coverage.
Why it matters:
When your nonprofit steps up to support runners, we step up to support you. It’s Omahans helping Omahans - on the course and in the community.
Who is eligible:
Serving as a course monitor is a great team-building activity perfect for corporate wellness teams, school clubs, dance and cheerleading groups, sports teams, community and faith-based groups, families and more!
Donations will only be made to 501(c)(3) organizations or schools. If your group is not an official 501(c)(3) or a school, we are happy to donate to the 501(c)(3) of your choice or one of our event charities: the Omaha Running Club, Omaha Police Department Foundation, the Council Bluffs Police Department or Heartland READY.
