Participants
Pasta Dinner
A complimentary runner’s pasta dinner is included in your race fee. This gives runners access to the pre-race pasta party on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn on 1420 Cuming Street in Downtown Omaha. Admission ticket is your race bib. Additional pasta dinners may be purchased for $10 for friends and family at either the expo or the pasta party.
Bus Tours
Saturday, tours of the race course will leave from the Holiday Inn Hotel lobby, (1420 Cuming Street). at 11a.m., 1p.m. and 3p.m. (Yes, it’s free! $5 for non-participants)
Weather
Average temperatures: Low: 54°F High: 72°F, with humidity climbing from 60 to 80 percent. Drink early, drink often.
Parking
Please review the parking map enclosed in your packet. Parking areas on race day around Lewis and Clark Landing will be limited. Substantial parking will be available near TD Ameritrade Stadium Park and the Qwest Center. Areas immediately around these areas will have restricted in and out times starting at 6 a.m.
Gear Check
Gear Check is located near the finish line. Participants can drop off warm-up clothing before the race. Place your items in the bag provided marked with your bib number. All bags must be checked in by 6:30 a.m. Your bag will remain at this location until you pick it up after you finish. The Omaha Marathon is not responsible for lost items.
Start
START LOCATION IS TBD. STAY TUNED FOR AN EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT.
Marathon, half-marathon & 10k start promptly at 7 a.m. Runners should be assembled at the start by 6:30 a.m. for race instructions. Please give yourselves plenty of time to get to the start, stretch and hydrate before the start.
For your safety and of those around you, no dogs or strollers are permitted on the race course.
Hair Ceremony
Watch the race director as well as others cut their hair for Locks of Love at the Lewis and Clark Landing! Salon services provided by Serenity Salon!
9:30am – 10k Marathon ceremony
11:00am – Half Marathon ceremony
12:30pm – Full Marathon ceremony
Race Numbers
Fasten your race number securely to your front using the safety pins provided. Please fill out all medical information on the back.
Race Scoring and Timing
Timing will again be provided by ChampionChip Minnesota. Clocks and mats will be set up at the start, finish and intervals on the course. Please be sure to cross the mats and do not return over them.
Timekeeping & Pace Setting
The Omaha Marathon will once again use MYLAPS BibTag Timing Technology. Timing Services will be provided by MTEC Results, St Paul, MN. The Omaha Running Club will provide pace setters for runners wishing to finish in 3:00 hours, increasing in 15-minute increments up to 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Aid Stations
Aid stations with water, Gatorade and port-a-johns are located every 2 miles or less. (see map). Energy Gel will be available for marathon runners near mile 18.
If you need medical assistance during the race, please notify volunteers at the aid stations. Medical volunteers are authorized to remove runners from the course, who are deemed medically impaired. Medical bicyclists, with first-aid equipment, will also be on the course.
